Developer Southern Grove has revealed plans for a new £80m, 18-storey mixed-use tower in Canada Water, east London.
The tower, named The Brooklyn, will include 150 homes along with 25,000 square feet of office space. It will be situated at St Olav’s Court, near Canada Water tube station.
Planning permission will now be sought from Southwark Council for the tower, and Southern Grove is looking for a housing association partner to help provide affordable homes.
Southern Grove chief executive Tom Slingsby said the development would boost housing and commercial stock in Canada Water, which he described as “one of the capital’s regeneration hotbeds”.
“Canada Water is going to be put on the map in a bold new way by the extensive regeneration that is going to take hold over the next 15 years, and our own scheme will complement that effort,” he added.
Southern Grove is also developing The Vantage, a £25m student accommodation project in Nottingham, and the mixed-use St James development in Bermondsey, London.
